Case Study: GSL Corporate Identity

GSL (Gem Studies Laboratory) had been in business for over 20 years when they approached Red Ant Media for assistance with their brand. The old branding had remained unchanged since the company had started and did not reflect their position in the current market place.

The major concern was that whilst being one of the best gem testing facilities in the world, they were failing to attract new customers to the business.

This was in part due to the lack of a strong corporate image as compared to their competitors both in Australia and overseas and a lack in coherent branding across the company’s spectrum of output.

Working together with GSL, Red Ant Media was able to develop a recognisable corporate image for the company that extended from their stationery to their product range, being a variety of certificates used to authenticate the results of their testing.

Based on these sketches and discussions with GSL regarding colours and typography Red Ant Media developed the following concepts and presented them to GSL:

Corporate Identity Logo Design

From these concepts and further discussions with GSL, Red Ant Media developed this final version of their logo:

Using the logo as a starting point Red Ant Media then proceed to design the rest of GSL's stationery and product range, including business cards, letterheads, envelopes, certificates and DL brochures. Examples of these can be seen in the image at the top of this page.
